Our Team

Ken Hucker and Melanie Bruce-Hucker, partners in Peacock Grove Design Studio have been involved in residential design since 1981.

 

Ken received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Miami and has extensive experience in residential construction as a carpenter and construction superintendent. He worked as a Project Manager for an architectural firm in Miami and as Vice-President of Design for a large builder/developer in South Florida.

 

Melanie received her Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Cincinnati. She was a Project Manager (specializing in resort and golf course residential design) for an architectural firm in Boca Raton, Florida and was the Head Designer for a large, custom home builder in South Florida.

Since moving to South Carolina and founding Peacock Grove Design Studio in 1992, Ken and Melanie have designed over 150 homes.  Projects range from The Reserve at Lake Keowee and The Cliffs Communities to private homes located in some of the most prestigious neighborhoods in the Upstate, including the design and planning of Chancellor's Park, the location of the 1997 Greenville (SC) Parade of Homes.  In addition to custom homes and renovation projects, Ken and Melanie have served on the Architectural Review Boards for several communities and have designed over 20 medical and professional office buildings.
